this place here-not meant for anyone on a diet. no joke.
gold chilli-famous for their butter chicken and tomyam fried rice. and its super good. the place is quite small, and if u go during peak hours, be prepared to wait a little before being able to find a table. but trust me its worth the wait. do not be tempted to just go over to darusalam to have that roti canai because their butter chicken is really worth the wait.
here, you will see almost everytable ordering the same thing. either butter cooked, or mongolian cooked chicken/fish/sotong/chicken boneless. so i've tried quite a few combinations-butter boneless chicken, butter sotong, monogolian boneless chicken, mongolian sotong. they are all good. just depends what you are feeling on that day.
so i was feeling rather down that night, and that called for comfort food eating. ordered butter boneless chicken, the monogolian sotong, sambal fried rice, and fried kangkung.
butter chicken drenched in butter sauce. the butter sauce was super rich and buttery. almost everyone i've been with who didn't order white rice ended up ordering white rice to go with the sauce. people who aren't a fan of sweet food would prefer the mongolian style cuz this sauce is quite sweet and rich. the only thing i'd say definitely is that i have no idea how many blocks of butter they used man. super buttery, damn bloody good butter chicken. i dreamt of butter chicken after eating this for the first time. its a must try for everyone. i never knew such great butter chicken existed until i tried this.
mongolian style cooked sotong this was too good as well. loved the black pepper-ish taste that went with the crunchy sotong. they gave us lots of sotong, very generous with their portions i must say. if you ain't much of a sweet tooth, this would be a better option than the butter chicken. though i'd recommend you to try both. you won't regret it.
sambal fried rice vs tomyam fried rice. i loved the previous, but on other ocassions when i have brought my friend here, they always go for the tomyam fried rice. personally, i prefer the sambal one. it had a good hit of sambal.
kangkung belacan. who doesn't love this vege. its almost always my must order vege. i would have preferred if they gave more leaves than stems though. but yea how wrong can kangkung belacan go. just needed some greens to complete the meal.
seriously, you will dream of butter chicken after having this. its that good. you have a friend coming in to kuala luumpur, bring them here to try this. this can compete with the like of the famous nirwana or raju or kayu. it has to go into tourist books really.
this gold chilli, is really golden i tell u.
