the menu of paradise dynasty echoes that of dintaifung and dragon-i/canton-i. the first thing you'd notice walking into the restaurant is their grand interior design. situated in the middle of the restaurant is a grand budha statute. but i thought it was a little fail, cuz i don't know about you guys, but eating meat in front of budha made me feel a little uncomfortable. i mean i had my back facing budha, but nevertheless.
famous are their colored siu long baos. each siu long bao was of a different flavour. the black (truffle), grey (garlic), white (original), brown (foie gras), orange (crab roe), yellow (cheese), pink (sze chuan) and green (ginseng). 23.80 for 8 of the flavoured ones, whereas 6 of the orignal sui long baos costs rm 16. i thought this was okay, i loved the garlic one cuz i'm a sucker for garlic. i honestly thought ordering a whole basket of garlic would have been a better fit for me.
scrambled egg white, with white fish, fried scallops and a raw yolk seated on top. i thougt it was a pretty interesting dish. it had the shark fin soup consistency, minus the guilt. but this was a disappointment. i could hardly taste the dry scallops nor find any fish. this dish was rather tasteless, and certainly not worth the 20 bucks one has to fork out for eggs.
these pork wontons were also super spicy. i think the chefs here have a thing for spicy food. rm9.
how could i end without dessert right? egg white souffles, with banana and red bean fililng. rm8. i thought that there was too little filling, the filling to souffle ratio was out of proportion sadly. not something i would order again nor recommend to order.
other than the xio long baos, the rest of the stuffs were so-so. plus the environment making me uncomfortable eating meat, don't think there'll be a second, unless i take-out. but mind you the special siu long baos do attract a pretty big crowd so be prepared to que especially during peak hours.
